What is a glycerite?

A glycerite is an herbal extract finished with vegetable glycerin instead of alcohol. While most glycerin-based extracts on the market are gentle but less potent—because glycerin alone doesn’t extract the full range of herbal compounds—we do things differently.

At Eclectic Herb, we start by extracting the herb in alcohol using our custom-built Lloyd Extractor. This captures both alcohol-soluble and water-soluble compounds for maximum potency. Then, we carefully remove the alcohol and replace it with organic, non-GMO vegetable glycerin.

The result? A sweet, alcohol-free extract that’s just as powerful as a traditional tincture—safe for kids, alcohol-sensitive individuals, and anyone who wants herbal strength without compromise.
